LWML NEWS – NOVEMBER
Fall is a great time of opportunity for our LWML-Lutheran Women in Mission. Through our chapters, events and activities we focus on affirming each woman’s relationship with Christ, encouraging and equipping women to live out their Christian lives in active mission ministries to support local, national, and global missions. The LWML welcomes women of all ages and encourages them to use their unique God-given gifts to support missions and to serve the Lord with gladness.

DID YOU KNOW?
64 sewing kits were assembled at our quarterly meeting in August? These kits were then donated to Lutheran World Relief and sent out across the globe to help combat global poverty through building self-sufficiency. Through your answer to our recent call for donations of fabric and thread, you helped someone learn to sew, a skill and a trade that plays a vital role in the mission of Lutheran World Relief. We thank you for your support of our mission projects and your faithful contributions.
The total amount of grants paid by the LWML Oklahoma District since 1928 to present is an incredible $1,406,205.11! You can be involved in funding grants by picking up a Mite Box in the Narthex and collecting your change. You may turn in your Mite donations by placing them in the large “Mite” box in the Narthex. We do ask that you place your mites in a baggie and drop them in the box. Your mites truly add up and make a significant difference in the lives of many
UPCOMING EVENTS:
Our annual shoe collection event will be held November 2024-January 2025 so start looking through your shoes now in preparation for this event. We will be repurposing gently worn or new shoes. We would love to help you learn more about the LWML and help you become involved in our mission.
The LWML-Lutheran Women in Mission 41st Biennial National Convention, “Growing in Grace”, will be held June 26-29, 2025 in Omaha, Nebraska! The Oklahoma District will be chartering a bus for transportation to and from the conventions and we would love to have you join us for a journey of fun, friendship and faith.
