Liturgical
Days in August
-
AUGUST 15th - ST. MARY, MOTHER OF OUR LORD. Psalm
45:10-15; Isaiah 61:7-11; Galatians 4:4-7; Luke 1:46-55.
Read these Scripture lessons and rejoice in this humble
woman, blessed by God to be the mother of the Savior!
-
AUGUST 24TH - ST. BARTHOLOMEW. Psalm 121; Exodus 19:1-6;
1 Corinthians 12:27-31a; John 1:43-51. Read these Scripture
lessons and see that Bartholomew was also called Nathanael
and was an honest man who confessed with exuberance that
Jesus was the Son of God!
-
AUGUST 29TH - THE MARTYRDOM OF ST. JOHN THE BAPTIST.
Psalm 141; Jeremiah 1:17-19; Mark 6:17-29. Read these
Scripture lessons and re-evaluate the real purpose of our
lives - to point others towards Jesus, the Lamb of God who
takes away the sin of the Lord. John gave his head for the
Head of the Church - Jesus!

GREETERS WANTED
Can you spare 20 minutes on a given Sunday to volunteer for
service to our Lord? That’s the amount of time required to be a
greeter before church services. You need to arrive
approximately 20 minutes before the service to welcome fellow
Christians to the Lord’s house. And you can choose the service
and date that works best for you. So take time to volunteer
today. A sign up sheet is available on the desk in the
narthex. For additional information or questions, contact
Dolores Hulsey, 376-8861.
