LCMS CONVENTION NEWS AND ELECTION RESULTS from July

I attended the LCMS National Triennial Convention in Houston from July 9th - 17th as the Norman Circuit Pastoral Representative. It was a wonderful time of planning, prayer, worship and discussing our national and district work for the next 3 years. Also attending were four of our former Vicars who are now Pastors: Eric Ahlemeyer, Marcus Zill, David Menet, and Chad Dietrich. I had lunch with each of them, and they all remember with fondness their year serving here as our Vicar. The elections at the convention ushered in a whole new “team” to lead us:

• Second Vice President   Rev.  John C. Wohlrabe
• Third Vice President   Rev. Paul L. Maier

God bless these men as they lead us to continue to be faithful to Holy Scriptures and our doctrinal positions as confessed in the Book of Concord.

OKLAHOMA DISTRICT BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING
Saturday, August 14, 2010 at 9:30 a.m.

Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Edmond. Pastor Nehrenz is the 2nd Vice-President of the Oklahoma District.

SUNDAY SCHOOL TEACHER TRAINING
Sunday August 15th at 12:00 noon with Lunch

Pastor will teach this for all the teachers to cover the materials for the Fall Sunday School classes.

CHURCH AND SCHOOL STAFF MEETING
Tuesday, August 24th  at 8:00 a.m.

7th AND 8th GRADE CONFIRMATION ORIENTATION
Wednesday,  September 1st at 6:30 P.M.

Parents and Confirmands meet with Pastor and Vicar. All 7th and 8th Grade CONFIRMANDS MUST ATTEND TO GO THROUGH ORIENTATION WITH PASTOR AND VICAR. CLASSES begin WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 8th AT 5:45 P.M.
