LWML NEWS – SEPTEMBER
Summer is ending so we are looking forward to several LWML fall events and hope there will be an event you find interesting.
Saturday, September 12th from 1:00-3:00 p.m., we will host a workday in the Fellowship Hall to create table favors for our fall rally. There will be a short (15 min) business meeting to discuss some new activities members of our congregation have offered to lead as well as officer elections. We will be making ribbon cross bookmarks and key rings.
LWML Bible study resumes on Tuesday, September 15th at 10am in the triangle room. We will use Bible studies from the LWML Quarterly and meet on the third Tuesday beginning September through May.
Oklahoma City zone Fall Fest will be held on Saturday, October 3rd at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Midwest City, registration begins at 8:00 a.m. The ingathering will benefit Good Shepherd’s school and child development center. When registration forms are available, they will be placed in the narthex. If you would like to share a ride, please let me know.
LWML Sunday will be celebrated on October 4th and include installation of new officers. The theme this year is Lutheran Women in Mission Supporting Missions.
Our annual shoe collection to recycle gently used shoes to those in need around the world will begin in November. Please hang on to any shoes you plan to discard until that time.
And finally, we are working to schedule a servant event at a local food bank. Details to come soon.
